Ibnu Khaldun dan Peluangnya dalam Perbaikan Negara. Ibnu Khaldun dan Pemerintahan Barquq. Pada masa pemerintahan Raja Barquq, Ibnu Khaldun menempati posisi sebagai Hakim Maliki. Untuk penempatan posisi ini berbeda dengan kasus penempatan yang lainnya, yakni tidak melalui penjual-belian jabatan. Posisi hakim tersebut diberikan kepada Ibnu Khaldun dikarenakan ia meman.
